Captain Derek Peters
Captain Derek Peters holds a USCG Masters Captains license as well as a Registered Maine Fishing Guides license. He has lived in Maine his entire life has always been an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He began his chartering career as a first mate in 2002 and instantly fell in love with taking people fishing!
I started Apex Charters because I love being on the water and fishing. There is nothing better than making a living doing something you love to do every day. Even on my days off from the boat, I go fishing.
My entire life I’ve been fishing both salt and fresh water. In 2014 I started Apex Charters & Fishing Guide Service with a mission to ensure everyone who steps on my boat leaves with a smile even on slower fishing days.
I love having first-time anglers catch their first fish with me as well as experienced anglers catching their biggest. My goal is to show people a great time that gets the whole family hooked on fishing.
No one works harder than I do to make sure everyone is having fun. For experienced anglers, I want their trip with me to be remembered above their other trips even if we didn’t catch the biggest or most fish that day. With new or inexperienced people I want them to have a positive experience and want them to go home and want to go fishing again.

Captain Chris holds a USCG Captains license as well as being a Registered Maine Fishing Guide. He is a Maine resident but also spends his winters guiding in Florida.
I have fished salt and freshwater all over new England my whole life. I’ve worked commercial fishing boats as well as charter boats for the past 25 years.
From first-timers to experienced anglers, I love what I do and enjoy interacting with all kinds of personalities and people.
I really enjoy having kids on the boat making memories, they are the future of the sport. I promise I will do whatever it takes to make the trip one that you will remember.
